A New Song In My Mouth

#28daysoflovepoems

Sordid tales of love’s fails

Paved the way to something different

I think God spoke to me and

This time I finally listened

Yesterday I couldn’t sing but

Today I woke up with a new song in my mouth

You look at me and stare at my soul

Nobody speaks and nobody knows

A language, a way even we can’t explain

A way only God could ever ordain

Yesterday I couldn’t talk but

Today you listen when I speak without me ever moving my lips

And when you put your hands on my hips and

You say my name with your big, deep voice

I can’t resist

I don’t have a choice

There’s a pep in my step

A certain sway in my hips

Don’t mind me

I just ain’t never heard a song quite like this

Everyday in February 2026, The House of Psalm will post an original poem about love — self-love, romantic love, parental love and so much more. #28daysoflovepoems | IG @thehouseofpsalm @kiaraleewrites
