WHOLENESS + WELLNESS PHILOSOPHY
WRITING IS WELLNESS
As a mom, a writing professor, a writer, a coach/ consultant, and a woman of color among other things, I have seen and I have experienced the ways writing and wellness are intertwined and how they inform one another. Writing can be a means of mental wellness. When we journal, when we tell our stories, when we let our hearts and souls cry out in our words and more, we are affirming who and what we are and everytime our brands speak, they are telling a story. In an unpredictable world, working hard to maintain our affirmation of self and honoring ALL of who we are can be a daunting task. When I work with clients, I hold space for all that can emerge from the consulting process — tears, laughs, confusion, joy, shame, guilt, triumph — and everything else in-between. I wholeheartedly understand from experience that you can not separate a client or a business from their work or their voice; in other words, this work can get personal when it’s done right and that’s okay. In addition to mental wellness, physical wellness also plays a role in working toward wholeness; my training in yoga and fitness informs The House of Psalm brand and the ways I can work with clients. Working with me, our work and our space is safe and focused on wholeness.
