Me and My Daughter’s Garden

#28daysoflovepoems by Kiara

I don’t have much money

But I got a lot of green

Flowers and trees and plants and peace

I don’t have much money and

I’m too broke for counterfeit men

I’m too broken

I’m broken and I’m spent

Lord you know I can’t afford it and

My seed has already been disappointed by one tenant

That’s one too many

Too many weeds up in the garden

And there are far too many suitors

Up for the task of watering me and my seed

Plenty of suitors in big boy pants ready

Willing and waiting for big girl plants

To water

To nourish

To tend to

Lord what has gotten into me?

Me and her

We built this brick by brick

Can’t let just anybody up in this shit

These grounds, this space, this

Immaculate estate

Lord please forgive me

We just picky

We just picky about this place

Everyday in February 2026, The House of Psalm will post an original poem about love — self-love, romantic love, parental love and so much more. #28daysoflovepoems | IG @thehouseofpsalm @kiaraleewrites
