Lights, camera, action

Scene unseen

Life is a mess

But at least my pocketbook is clean

I smile for the picture but

I cry behind the scenes

Look alive they tell me

But do they say what they mean?

Look alive, their eyes whisper

While my mind hollers and screams

This gets old and 

These tears are so hard to swallow

So salty

So cold

God bless the cameraman

He just doing what he been told

And I’m here just doing what I know

He presses the button and the flash shutters slow

They say look alive pretty girl

Better act like you know

They watch me come and

They watch me go

Too much light

Too much flash

I can’t keep up

I’m livin’ kinda fast 

But my soul shutters slow

But the show 

The show must go on
